The Zombies Are Coming. How To Advantage Play “Plants Vs Zombies 3D” by IGT

In my previous post I showed how the well known Aladdin’s Fortune 3D could be advantage played. I couldn’t write a post about that slot machine without following up by posting about Plants Vs Zombies 3D. This machine came out at the same time as Aladdin’s Fortune & in many casinos you’d often see them grouped together in the same bank of machines. Plants Vs Zombies 3D or “PvZ” for short is a game with unique characters & is based on the popular video game that was released in 2009.

The bonus round on PvZ is triggered when the bar at the top of the screen reaches 500 points. How do I advantage play & “beat” Plants Vs Zombies?

It’s all about the meter. Obviously the closer to 500 the better. The consensus since this machine has come out amongst slot hustlers is to play when you see the meter at 200 or more points. However, PvZ is a well established advantage play machine. From what I’ve seen in several locations where there is heavy competition, advantage players are relaxing their standards & playing numbers in the 150 range.

You get points by landing brain symbols on reels 1, 3 or 5. Each brain that lands will add 54 points to the meter. However if a spin fails to yield a brain symbol, you will be docked 12 points. So unlike most advantage machines where you typically have an advantage until you play through the bonus, there is the possibility where you reach a point where you should abandon the machine.

As a constant reminder, Plants Vs Zombies has 5 different bet levels & that means 5 different meters. So make sure you check for playable opportunities on each one.

In my opinion it was these two machines, Plants Vs Zombies 3D & Aladdin’s Fortune 3D that helped usher in a new “golden era” of advantage machines in casinos that we see today. Old hustlers had new machines to exploit & many new hustlers were born because of how prevalent Plants vs Zombies & Aladdin’s Fortune were. Largely due to the fact that they were manufactured by a major slot maker such as IGT.
