For the most part, slot machine hustling is an individual endeavor. Some work in small teams or with a few family members. Perhaps even a friend or two. But by & large we tend to work solo, fully aware of other hustlers in the same casinos but never speaking a word to many of them. There’s nothing wrong with that. Everyone can keep to themselves & still be respectful of one another.
Today’s tip is that while you may never speak to them, observe how the other advantage slot players at your local casino(s) operate. Over time you can get a read on the preferences of each hustler & at times be able to use this info to your benefit.
Two important things to watch are how conservative/aggressive are they in taking plays & what’s their bankroll situation. Do they shy away from certain plays or are they a maniac who even attacks sub-optimal plays just to wipe the machine clean? If someone is playing a must-hit-by $500 progressive, you may be wondering if you should hang around or move on. Are they rolling in dough or are they known to go bust & forced to walk away.
Let’s say you see another hustler who you’re familiar with watching over someone betting a good amount on an advantage machine. You happen to see from a distance the player leave the machine & the hustler get on the machine to check for any plays. The hustler gets up & walks away.
In most situations you keep it moving in the hunt for advantage opportunities. However, because you know this hustler is both tighter than most & has light pockets, you decide to go to the machine that they just checked anyway. You end up finding an advantage play that the other hustler was unwilling to play & end up winning a nice sum.
The example I just used was one that I recently experienced. The other hustler was unwilling/couldn’t afford a 225 credit play on a 5 cent Golden Egypt Grand. I got the bonus & the picture below was the end result.
