Various “Lock It Link” slot machines

One of the most popular series of slot machines over the past several years are the link games from Aristocrat & Scientific Games. Most notably the Dragon Link, Lightning Link, Dollar Storm & Lock It Link series of slot machines. Go to casinos around the country on a busy day & you’ll often see these types of machines swamped with people playing them. They are so popular that many casinos have dedicated significant sections of gaming space to them.

With any slot machine that is popular, you’re going to have people wondering if there is an angle or a consistent way to win on them. Googling “strategies to win on/how to beat/how to win on/hit the Grand, etc” on these games will yield a ton of results, particularly from Youtube. There are also people out there who are offering paid guides claiming to be able to give tips & strategies on how to beat these games.

Can you beat Dragon Link, Lightning Link, Dollar Storm or Lock It Link slot machines?

NO!!!!

There is absolutely no way that you can beat any of these games. Congrats to those people in videos where they are getting huge hits on them but they are just gambling. There is no strategy to explain their wins. Winning on these types of machines boils simply down to luck. Fast-tapping, waiting for time to pass before hitting the play button, changing denoms/bet levels have no relevance to how these games will pay. There is no advantage play to be found on them whatsoever. If there was a way to “land the Grand” with any type of consistency the link machines would be the most popular advantage play machines ever. Hustlers & casino patrons alike would be fighting over them as if it was the WWE Royal Rumble.

The only two “Link” games that are “beatable” are Buffalo Link & the lesser known Scarab Link. They are the only ones that have a feature that can be tracked which can be used in a player’s favor. In the case of Buffalo Link it’s the must hit by bonus before 1800 buffaloes are collected. For Scarab Link it is finding an abandoned machine with an accumulation of scarabs before the 10th spin. All of the other link games don’t have a feature that can be used to your advantage.

Perhaps the only bit of advice I can give when playing these link games is to play the one with the highest “Major” progressive. Hitting a Major is completely random & on Aristocrat link games they are capped which means that the progressive will stop growing once it reaches a certain number. Chasing a high major isn’t going to tip the odds in your favor. The house will still have a significant advantage over you. But if you are going to hit one, you might as well hit the highest one available.

In conclusion, there is no angle to Lightning Link, Dragon Link, Dollar Storm or Lock It Link. More importantly, don’t fork over any money to anyone offering “tips” on how to win on these games.

How to Advantage Play Aristocrat Gaming’s “Buffalo Link” https://www.advantageslots.com/how-to-advantage-play-aristocrat-gamings-buffalo-link/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-advantage-play-aristocrat-gamings-buffalo-link Tue, 20 Sep 2022 21:01:00 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1135

Combine two of Aristocrat’s most popular franchises(Buffalo & Lightning Link), add a feature that can be advantage played & you have yourself Buffalo Link. It was one of the more significant advantage play slot machines of 2021 for several reasons. First is that it was highly anticipated & had a wide release. I remember seeing ads in early 2021 constantly playing on YouTube prior to gambling related videos. In just a short time, Buffalo Link was in most major casinos nationwide & has proven to be wildly popular. In many places that I’ve seen it installed, the banks are almost always full & when someone gets off the machine the seat doesn’t stay empty for long. As a result I’ve seen many casinos increase the amount of Buffalo Links they have on the floor.

Buffalo Links full at Yaamava’ casino even on a weekday

When it comes to how it plays & pays, there is incredible potential for massive wins. However, with that potential comes volatility that’s just as massive & unseen in previous iterations of Buffalo.

Buffalo Link Paytable

The gameplay on Buffalo Link is like your typical Buffalo slot machine. It is a 5 reel, 4 row slot machine that pays left to right with all of the symbols any regular slot player has grown accustomed to when playing a Buffalo game. Three or more coins trigger the free games. Additionally there is a hold & spin link feature, hence the name Buffalo Link. Unlike the hold & spin feature in other popular Aristocrat titles like Dragon Link & Lightning Link where 6 credit symbols trigger the bonus, Buffalo Link requires the player to hit 8. If a player fills all 20 spaces then they win the Grand jackpot.

What to look for & how do I advantage play Buffalo Link?

It’s all about that must-hit by number on the right side. In addition to being a paid symbol, each yellow buffalo that appears on the screen increases the meter. The closer it is to 1800 the better. Of course we’d all like to find advantage play opportunities in the 1700s but you’ll almost never find one at this level. I’m sure one of you big brained advantage players can break it down to the exact number what is a play. But for those of us who are not as mathematically inclined I like to separate playable numbers into several tiers.

Free Feature just around the corner

1600+ = As great as you can expect to find. Very rare to find one at this number. A little volatile

1500+ = Good play, a bit rare to find & volatile

1400+ = Solid play, more volatile

1300+ = Decent play, expect regular ups & downs. Really volatile

1200+ = Ok play but welcome to Volatility City. Accept that you’re going to get sunk for a good chunk of change & go on rough losing streaks with a fair amount of regularity.

Play until the must-hit by bonus is triggered. Upon hitting it you will be awarded either the buffalo hold & spin feature or the free games.

Now as far as the actual checking for plays goes, this is what will separate you from the amateurs. I’ve seen hustlers & semi-aware customers check for plays on Buffalo Link 1 of 3 ways. One is to simply touch each denomination available 1, 2, 5, 10 & if available 25c. However, this is incomplete. Because no money is in the machine, you cannot go through each of the betting options. Therefore, you’re only checking 20% of the meters.

Method #2 is an attempt to work around this by putting enough money to cover all bets at all denominations & spinning each bet one time. This method is severely flawed. You may not find any advantage plays to hustle & it can be very costly to go through an entire bank of Buffalo Link slot machines.

Method #3 is the proper way to check for plays. What you do is put in a dollar or even better a change ticket that’s less than a dollar. The default meter displayed for each denomination is almost always the minimum. Touch the next bet level. Notice the meter changes. Also the “lucky chance spin” message pops up because you don’t have enough money to pay for a spin. That’s ok, just tap “return to game” & touch the next bet level over. Again the meter will change to show what it is at that bet & the lucky chance spin message will show again. Repeat the process across all bet levels & denominations.

Note: There will be times where you attempt to change the bet level & the meter does not move for any bets at a particular denomination. This is because the last person to play Buffalo Link attempted the lucky chance spin. To unlock it & check the rest of the bets at that denomination, a spin must be made. Of course it’s best to play a spin at minimum bet. Typically I’m only willing to place a minimum bet at 1 & 2 cent denominations as those get the bulk of play from customers. If there aren’t any plays, I only lose $1 or $2. The exception is if I happen to see a customer betting at a higher denom & want to take a chance to see if they left a play behind.

Remember when chasing the must hit by bonus that you are simply going for one of the two bonus rounds. There’s nothing inherently special about this bonus & just like any bonus feature it may or may not pay. Of the two I’d rather be given the hold & spin feature if I’m not in the machine for too much money & the free games if I’m getting smashed. Every once in a while you are given 15 or 20 games & you can still hit the hold & spin feature in the free games. Obviously you can still get skunked but I believe you have a better chance of making a full comeback with the free games. Personal preference.

Buffalo Link is not a slot machine for every advantage player. If you have a limited bankroll or would rather not deal with wild swings, Buffalo Link is probably not the advantage play slot machine you want to play. If this is you, I would stick with the tried & true lower volatility games like Scarab, Golden Egypt, Golden Jungle Grand & Ocean Magic. But if you have a good sized bankroll, tend to enjoy games with high potential for wins & don’t mind a high level of volatility, then Buffalo Link is a great option to advantage play.

How to Advantage Play Spielo/GTECH’s “Legends of Fire and Water” https://www.advantageslots.com/how-to-advantage-play-spielo-gtechs-legends-of-fire-and-water/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-advantage-play-spielo-gtechs-legends-of-fire-and-water Wed, 02 Mar 2022 08:00:00 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1106
Full screen of wilds

Legends of Fire and Water is an older advantage play slot machine by Spielo/GTECH. It’s a bit of a streaky machine where you’ll lose on a fair bit of advantage play opportunities. However, the losses are generally not significant & the positive runs can be really good.

The game revolves around something called “dragon wild stacks” which are meters above columns 1, 3 & 5 that indicate how many added wilds are on that reel. As with most slot machines with an advantage play element, meters are different at all bet levels.

Meters move one of two ways. The first is through landing a complete wild dragon on a reel. When this happens the corresponding meter for that reel will increase by 5. The other is through landing a yin-yang symbol. When this happens the yin-yang will do one of two things. It’ll either turn gold which will increase the meter by 1-3 or it’ll reveal a busted yin-yang. Unfortunately when this happens the number of wilds on that reel will be reduced by anywhere between 10 & 100%.

An additional feature to Legends of Fire and Water is a wild Phoenix symbol that exists on columns 2 & 4. If a Phoenix appears in full on either reel it will duplicate itself on its counterpart. All wins will be paid after the duplication.

Wild phoenix appearing in full on either columns 2 or 4 will duplicate itself on its counterpart

Triggering the bonus round in Legends of Fire and Water can be rather difficult. When a player lands bonus symbols or reels 1, 3 & 5, they are given a choice between two free spin bonus rounds: Dragon or Phoenix. If a player chooses Dragon they are given 20 free games. All five columns start with 8 wilds. Each time a dragon appears in full, all columns will get an additional five wilds. In the Phoenix bonus, the player is given 10 free games. Whenever the phoenix lands on columns 2 or 4, it’ll shift over as it does in the base game. The phoenix will then shift over to columns 1 & 5 on the following spin. Of the two, I personally prefer the Dragon bonus.

Max Bet Dragon Bonus

What do I look for & how do I advantage play Legends of Fire and Water?

Your focus when searching for advantage plays on Legends of Fire and Water should be on columns 1 & 3. The way I approach it is that I have a play if one of two conditions are met. One is if those two columns are in the high teens, the other is if either of those two columns is over 20 wilds. The difference between the teens & 20 doesn’t seem like much but the appearance of wilds is noticeable. A column 5 with a high number of wilds is nice to have but it should have no influence whatsoever on your decision to play it or not. Keep spinning until you get the broken yin-yangs that bring the wild meters below advantage play conditions.

How to Advantage Play “Spy vs Spy” by WMS https://www.advantageslots.com/how-to-advantage-play-spy-vs-spy-by-wms/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-advantage-play-spy-vs-spy-by-wms Sat, 19 Feb 2022 12:46:00 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1095

Spy vs Spy is an older advantage play slot machine from WMS. It is based on the classic comic strip which debuted in Mad Magazine way back in 1961.

As for the game itself, Spy vs Spy is a low volatility game with frequent small hits & a decent paying bonus round that hits with a fair amount of regularity. There is a progressive jackpot that can be won when betting at max bet. However, in all the years that this game has existed I’ve never witnessed anyone win it.

As the name Spy vs Spy suggests, there are two spies a white one & black one that are pitted against each other in a constant back & forth. In the slot machine there is a constant feature called “versus mode” where one of the spies is “in control.” When a spy is in control, anytime a character representing that color lands in the center of column 3 the meter representing that character goes up. If you land that character again, you will be awarded that credit amount & the meter increases further. Credit values increase proportionally to your bet. So a black 7 at minimum bet is 1000 & 5000 credits at max. If a wild symbol lands, all meters are increased and values are awarded if there is an existing value for that character..

A spy remains in control until the other spy lands on column 3. Therefore, as a player you are hoping that whichever spy is in control, stays in control & that you are able to build up the meters & go on a long streak. Although if I had the choice I’d prefer the black spy because the black 7 is worth much more than the white 7.

What to look for & how do I advantage play Spy vs Spy?

Look at the top screen. A plus to Spy vs Spy is that you can spot the meters from a long distance so there’s no buttons to touch. If the total adds up to over 1000 credits it’s a play. I’ve seen slot hustlers play it at lower numbers but I believe 1000 is a good baseline. Another area where advantage players have differing opinions is what to bet when you have a play. Bets range from 50-250 credits. The conservative method which is the more common method as far as I can tell is to minimum bet.

The aggressive strategy is to max bet it. Again max betting gives you the chance to win the top progressive prize. It also gives the potential for larger pays with the spies, particularly the black spy if you are fortunate enough to go on a streak. Of course on the flip side max betting puts you at risk of losing more. However, the losses on this game won’t be enough to send you to the poor house if you have any type of bankroll. The most I’ve ever lost on this game betting max is around $50. Truthfully I don’t know which method is better. If I were to guess I’d say they balance each other out.

Decent sized win choosing the max bet strategy

Spy vs Spy was never the most prevalent slot machine but it’s still out there. For example, the only place as far as I know that currently carries it on the Las Vegas Strip is The Venetian. In this new era of high volatility slot machines, Spy vs Spy is a bit of a throwback. Not a powerful advantage play by any stretch, but you know what to expect when to play it & it’s a low risk play.

Dispelling Common Slot Machine Myths https://www.advantageslots.com/dispelling-common-slot-machine-myths/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=dispelling-common-slot-machine-myths Wed, 09 Feb 2022 16:00:00 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1088 In this post I’ll dispel a few of the common myths that some slot machine players believe or have heard. Some of these may sound obvious to many of you, especially if you are a well seasoned casino goer & downright silly if you are a longtime advantage slot player/professional gambler. However, the vast majority of people who visit this website are not casino pros, rather they are casual players who may fall for some of these fallacies.

“Why is it that I can play for a long time & not hit a bonus but suddenly hit one as soon as I lower my bet.”

This is purely coincidental. Players tend to not remember the bonus rounds that they hit when playing their normal bet but will remember the ones they hit when things are going differently. In this situation, poorly. However, slot machines run on something called a random number generator(RNG) where billions of combinations are spit out every second. These combinations correlate to all possible outcomes ranging from a losing spin to the best possible payout on that particular slot machine. You hitting a bonus round has nothing to do with your bet but rather the exact microsecond that you hit the play button on the slot machine.

Does maxing out the sound really give me an “8.2 percent better chance of hitting a jackpot?”

Popular YouTube gambler “The Big Jackpot” typically states this at the start of a live stream or when he sits at a new slot machine as he turns the sound all the way up. This appears to be a running gag(at least I hope so) because volume has no effect on the return to the player. It’d be nice if it did but no.

Fast tapping

Fast tapping the play button does nothing to influence how a slot machine pays(see random number generator above). There are some slot machines which will even say so in their rules. Assuming you’re playing a non-advantage play machine, the only thing that fast tapping will do in most situations is lose your money quicker. Of course this doesn’t apply to advantage play situations especially when playing a machine like Hexbreaker 3 where a play can take a really long time to complete. In this case the person is trying to finish the play as soon as possible in order to move on to the next advantage play.

“I don’t play slot machines with a casino club card because the casino can track me & turn the machine cold if I start winning too much.”

Yes the casinos are tracking your play through the player’s card. However, the reason they do this is not nefarious. When you have the card in the machine & earning points while playing, the casino is gauging your value to the casino based on that play. They primarily use that information to give you offers based on that play to entice you to make future visits to that casino. If you were winning, so be it. But casinos are not going to go out of their way to change the return to player(RTP) while you are playing because you were winning. For one, it would cause a massive scandal if news of this broke out & severely hurt business. Secondly it’s generally a pain in the butt to change the RTP because of the many processes & regulations that surround them. Therefore, casinos don’t change them nearly as often as players think they do.

Dice Seeker: A Unique, Low Volatility Advantage Play Slot Machine https://www.advantageslots.com/dice-seeker-a-unique-low-volatility-advantage-play-slot-machine/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=dice-seeker-a-unique-low-volatility-advantage-play-slot-machine Wed, 02 Feb 2022 12:54:20 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1073

Dice Seeker is a quirky feature to a variety of different slot machines made by relative neophyte slot manufacturer Gaming Arts. Despite their difference in themes, games with the Dice Seeker feature pretty much all play the same. These large machines usually come in circular banks. The most I’ve seen thus far is a bank of ten. Machines with Dice Seeker also have three tiers of must-hit by progressives. While must-hit-by progressives are nice to have, it isn’t what makes these machines attractive to advantage slot players. It’s primarily about the Dice Seeker feature.

Two Dice Seeker themes: Viking Invasion and Flappers & Dappers

What do I look for & how do I advantage play Dice Seeker?

You’ll see on the upper screen that there are blocks of varying sizes represented by characters or credit values. You’ll also see a number at the bottom right of these blocks. The number represents the number of hits needed to make that block pop & be awarded the prize corresponding to that block. Hits are given anytime a die lands on the reels in the base game. The die will roll and the number landed will be the number of hits it will give to the corresponding reel above it. Hits are given to blocks starting from the bottom. Only one die per reel can land on a spin.

You need to put enough money into the machine to cover all bets at all denominations in order to check for plays on Dice Seeker. Every Dice Seeker machine I’ve ever seen has been multi-denominational with 25c being the highest denom I’ve seen so far. You are looking for the biggest block(3×2) to be a 6 or lower.

Why? Because you are guaranteed to be awarded the “pick bonus” when the largest block is cleared. It’s possible to be given the pick bonus when popping some of the smaller blocks but it is rare. You’ll be asked to pick one of three prizes. They’ll typically all be credit prizes but every once in a while, free games are revealed as one of the possible prizes which is the best case scenario on an advantage play.

Dice Seeker is a low paying game for the most part and it’s not a slot machine I’d put the greatest priority on if I were making the rounds searching for an advantage play inside a casino. Don’t expect to win much on it unless you hit the free games in the base game or are awarded them in the pick bonus.

Free games resulting in a jackpot handpay on 25c denomination

On the plus side, it’s a relatively low volatility game that won’t cost you too much if you happen to be on the losing end of a play. I usually check for plays no more than a couple of times on a casino visit. Usually early on in hopes of finding a higher denomination advantage play and again before I leave to see if there’s anything to clear out. There are better slot machines to hustle in most medium to large casinos these days.

How to advantage play IGT’s “Regal Riches” & “Prosperity Pearl” https://www.advantageslots.com/how-to-advantage-play-igts-regal-riches-prosperity-pearl/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-advantage-play-igts-regal-riches-prosperity-pearl Thu, 27 Jan 2022 02:43:18 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1038

Regal Riches & its sister game Prosperity Pearl are two slot machines by IGT. What makes these two games unique is a progressive must hit by wilds feature that is attached to three separate meters. These wild meters must hit by minor/purple 75, major/green 100 & mega/gold 125 respectively. These meters go up when the colored diamonds(RR)/pearls(PP) that correspond to each meter land on column 5. Up to four can land at one time.

Two mega/gold diamonds landing on Regal Riches which increase that meter by 2

When triggered, either by reaching the limit or by hitting two free games symbols plus the free games symbol of the corresponding color, you are given ten free games. During these 10 free games all of the accumulated wilds will be spent. Wilds can land repeatedly on the same spot. When this happens that spot’s multiplier will go up by one up to 5x. Ideally you’d want wilds to land bunched up together or in a pattern as opposed to randomly scattered about. When the free games are over the meter will be reset to its starting number. 30 for minor, 40 for major and 50 for mega.

Maxed out major wilds

There’s a fourth meter that isn’t as eye-catching as the other three. It’s also the meter that will get you the majority of your advantage plays.

What to look for & how do I advantage play Regal Riches/Prosperity Pearl?

Prosperity Pearl Mega free spins bonus

While your attention will take you to the three big numbers on the screen, the smaller fourth meter is located at the center of the screen above column three. This center meter is also a progressive wild meter which starts at 5. Blue diamonds(RR)/pearls(PP) can show up on any of the reels. You can be awarded up to 5 on a spin. On any given spin this meter will be triggered & all of the wilds accumulated will be spent on that spin.

You can look down at the betting options & see the meters for the three main meters but not for the smaller center meter. You have to go through and tap each of the bet options to see it. Finding one at 8 offers you a slight edge. Of course anything higher is better. The rules state that the center meter can go as high as 50 but it rarely ever goes higher than 15.

The betting options reveal the the three main meters but not the smaller, center meter

As for the big numbers, these were the numbers given to me from someone far smarter than me assuming the other two numbers are at reset: minor 63, major 83, mega 113 or 65/85/115. Make of them what you will but these are the playable numbers depending upon what the payback percentage is set on the machine which is almost always a mystery unless you obtain a par sheet from a slot tech or are fortunate enough to be near when the machine is being installed. If true, I see that we have our typical race to the bottom when it comes to many advantage play slot machines.

Two advantage plays at the same time

I say this because I don’t know about your local casinos but in the highly competitive Las Vegas market, I generally see slot hustlers take Regal Riches/Prosperity Pearl plays at lower numbers. I do believe that it’s a combination of taking a suboptimal play in hopes of getting lucky & also clearing the play so that another hustler can’t play it.

Regardless, if you are able to find a RR/PP at a good number make sure that you have enough money to play it to completion. They can get especially pricey at the higher bets & denominations when chasing the major & mega progressive wilds.

Regal Riches/Prosperity Pearl is a really good advantage play slot machine. Blue diamonds/pearls show up relatively often & it doesn’t take many of them for a machine to become a play. Many advantage players know this & as a result these are some of the most regularly checked machines for plays.

Advantage Playing Aristocrat’s “5 Coin Frenzy Jackpots Wukong Wealth” https://www.advantageslots.com/advantage-playing-aristocrats-5-coin-frenzy-jackpots-wukong-wealth/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=advantage-playing-aristocrats-5-coin-frenzy-jackpots-wukong-wealth Sun, 02 Jan 2022 00:35:31 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=1012

5 Coin Frenzy Jackpots Wukong Wealth is an Aristocrat advantage play slot machine. It’s a pretty straightforward machine which has three main features. One is random wilds that appear in the base game. Two is a jackpot feature. Last is an accumulation feature which is where the advantage play comes in.

What do I look for & how to advantage play 5 Coin Frenzy Jackpots

1 to 5 coins are given when a Chinese red or gold envelope lands on column 3. If gold envelopes land you’ll also trigger the 5 coin frenzy jackpots bonus. You’ll choose from five envelopes which will reveal credits or a progressive. The amount of envelope selections you’ll have is based on the bet level.

Just one coin on $1.76 & $2.64 bets. Sadly no advantage plays here

Collect five coins & you’ll trigger “frenzy mode.” In frenzy mode you have five paid spins where on each spin, 1-15 random wilds will appear. It’d be nice to find a machine already in frenzy mode, but that is highly unlikely. Look down at the betting options. Realistically, you are looking for a bet level that has at least three coins collected.

Frenzy Mode from the very first time I played it. Very meh but perhaps you can see the potential in it

There is a twin to Wukong Wealth titled Tiger Wealth. I have never played Tiger Wealth but it plays exactly the same. This game is simple to understand but I’m not overly impressed with it. Although you could be awarded up to 15 wilds on a spin in frenzy mode, I’ve never come close to getting that. There is the potential to hit a sizable jackpot if you are lucky to hit the major or grand jackpots. But obviously it’s so rare that I wouldn’t revolve my search for advantage plays around this game.

Advantage playing the super powerful “Hexbreak3r” https://www.advantageslots.com/advantage-playing-the-super-powerful-hexbreak3r/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=advantage-playing-the-super-powerful-hexbreak3r Fri, 31 Dec 2021 00:20:44 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=996

Hexbreak3r or (Hexbreaker 3) by IGT came out a couple of years ago & I’ll admit that I didn’t quite understand it. I noticed that hustlers were fast tapping the spin button like crazy when chasing the center column which is the progressive. It didn’t make sense to me & I thought to myself “All this for $113?(reset at minimum bet)” I didn’t think it was worth it. But boy was I wrong. Turns out this highly volatile game was one of the best slot machines for advantage players in 2020.

Hexbreak3r, like its predecessors, is a game that pays both left to right & right to left. Reels start off at a low of 243 up to a maximum of 32768 ways to win. Reels grow when horseshoe symbols land. An orange horseshoe will move a reel up one spot while a blue one will move it up a minimum of 2 spots. When a reel makes it to the top aka the “luck zone” you are awarded the prize that corresponds to that reel.

What to look for & how to advantage play Hexbreaker 3

There are a few scenarios where Hexbreak3r can be in an advantageous state. The first & obvious one is seeing the reels stretched out to something that gives the player about, let’s say 8000+ ways to win. More ways to win means potentially more opportunities to get big wins with stacked symbols. Also columns 2, 3 & 4 are where both the wilds & bonus symbols reside. Landing three bonus in full on these columns is one of two ways to get the “unlimited free games.” Expanded reels mean a better chance to land full bonus symbols. The other way is to get it through reaching it at the top of the luck zone via the horseshoes.

When chasing the bonus in the luck zone generally it’s your best bet that you take it at one away if it’s on column 1 or 5, two away in the rare event a bonus symbol is on top of column 2 or 4. The reason is that the horseshoes show up with greater regularity on columns 2 & 4. It’s also why the credit values on these columns are typically lower than those on 1 & 5.

The last & most significant advantage play situation you may find is the center column 3 or fewer steps away from the luck zone. You may be thinking that it’s not worth it like I did two years ago but here’s why it is. Column 3 is where the horseshoe shows up the least. But finding one in an elevated state means that it will stay high for a while. Combine the center with high columns 2 & 4 and you’ll be hitting more bonus rounds & stacked wilds. Hexbreak3r’s edge becomes even stronger when high columns 1 & 5 join the party giving the player the potential for massive base game pays. FYI, hitting the progressive in the bonus resets the progressive but does not reset the position of column 3 in the base game.

The column 3 edge is so strong that it’s still a play even if the four other columns are at the bottom. It will likely cause short-term pain but don’t sweat it. Play Hexbreaker 3 until the center column reaches the top.

Yes, this is a play. An excellent one at that.

One thing that you’re going to need to chase the progressive is time. Unless you are extremely fortunate to hit a blue horseshoe that boosts you to the top, it’s usually going to take you at a minimum a few hours to reach the top & that’s with you fast tapping the entire way. I’m not a fan of fast tapping personally as I’m self-conscious by nature & don’t like that it draws unwanted looks but if you’re going for the progressive there’s no way around it unless you want to potentially sit on Hexbreak3r for 24 hours.

Finally, you can leave

To put in perspective how profitable the column 3 advantage was, I knew someone in my region who took daily notes of every Hexbreak3r in the casinos. He’d travel to every location that was four away on column 3 from the previous day in hopes that it had moved up. This was before many hustlers picked up on the advantage & he did quite well for himself. Watching this YouTube video from RandomSlots posted in February 2020 shows this. There’s absolutely no way that in 2021 that you can leave column 3 two away & not expect an advantage player to instantly hop on it. Yet, at this time he was able to get off the machine & actually come back to play it again.

If you see someone speed playing to chase the column 3 progressive I believe it’s best that you move on to something else. There’s an extremely high probability this person is an advantage player or at the very least a knowledgeable customer. Don’t waste your time.

Hexbreaker 3 is an elite advantage play slot machine. I’ve heard some claim that the game has been nerfed by IGT. I strongly doubt this & believe it is just as potent today as it was when it first came out a few years ago. In addition to advantage plays, Hexbreaker 3 is a massive points generator if you use a casino player’s card. A great way to increase your status with a casino, higher free play & comps.

Reels maxed out

With that said, I believe casinos have misjudged the popularity of Hexbreaker 3. Casinos see a huge amount of coin-in, translate that to it being a hit & order more of them when in fact the vast majority of those dollars are coming from advantage players cleaning up the center column progressive. When the columns are in a depressed or non-advantageous state it is an absolutely brutal game with few redeeming qualities. In my opinion, regular slot players have picked up on this & I don’t see them getting nearly as much play as they did previously. For example, there’s a potential $3.20 play at one of my local casinos with the center column sitting 4 away from the top. It is a large casino with good traffic & the machine sits at the end of a row. But it has not moved in 10 days. So in conclusion, Hexbreaker 3 has a strong advantage but we need the average slot player to play them in order to get an advantage. If the average player is rejecting it, we’ll see Hexbreaker 3 gone sooner rather than later.

How to Advantage Play “Super Lit Vegas” by Ainsworth https://www.advantageslots.com/how-to-advantage-play-super-lit-vegas-by-ainsworth/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-advantage-play-super-lit-vegas-by-ainsworth Thu, 14 Oct 2021 22:58:25 +0000 https://www.advantageslots.com/?p=970

Ainsworth, known largely in the advantage play community for their must hit by progressives has a little known persistent state slot machine titled “Super Lit Vegas.” I first encountered this machine at the Cosmopolitan over a year ago, then later found it at Park MGM & Luxor. As of early September 2021, Luxor is the only place on the Las Vegas Strip that I’m aware of that still has it.

Super Lit Vegas is similar to Scarab/Diamond Mania in that electric orbs are collected & stored that will turn wild after a certain amount of spins. Electrified lights represent spots on the game where an orb has landed. In the case of Super Lit Vegas, these lit up spots turn wild on the 7th spin. In addition, Super Lit Vegas awards players a wheel spin should they collect at least 8 orbs. If a player collects 10, 12, 14, or 16+ wilds the wheel spin will pay 2x, 3x, 5x & 10x respectively.

What to look for when advantage playing Super Lit Vegas

You’re looking for two things when attempting to advantage play Super Lit Vegas. First is to go through all of the bet levels to see how many wilds are saved up & how close it is to the 7th spin. You have an advantage play if you’re approaching the 7th spin & are close or have already reached the 8 wilds needed to have a spin of the wheel regardless of where the wilds are located. You also have a play if you have some wilds bunched up together in columns 1-3. You may not get the wheel spin but at least you’ll have a chance to make a profit with a line pay on spin 7. Of course you’ll have the best of both worlds if the wilds are on the front side & you have enough for a wheel spin.

Super Lit Vegas is a quick & easy game to advantage play. It’s a machine that’s perfect for someone with a low bankroll or someone new to hustling slots & leans on the conservative side because you know how much money you’re putting on the line should you decide to go for a play. 5th spin out of 7 on $1.80 bet. Ok, I know I’m only putting $3.60 on the line.

There is potential for a massive win if you were to get a 10x wheel spin & land on a big number. I wouldn’t count on it however. I haven’t played it extensively but I’ve played it enough to know that it’s really hard to get it. The best I’ve been able to get so far is a 3x wheel spin on a couple of occasions. Most of your wins on Super Lit Vegas will be marginal but I’d still check it regularly if it were available at my local casino because of how quick it is to check & play.
